Isn't there only one fundamental difference between liberals and conservatives?

Conservatives think it should be acceptable for people to die of starvation, war, be homeless, drink unsanitary water, lack medical care, have each day be a struggle for survival like an animal, and liberals don't. It's not about what's right and wrong, it's that cons think humans should live like animals and liberals believe in a basic existence should be guaranteed to all people. Am I wrong?
