Ubuntu crashes, need help. blank screen upon login?

had ubuntu for a week or so. got compiz fusion and turned on blur windows. screen went blank almost instantaneously. now whenever i login the screen goes blank where ever i click. cannot open anything. after screen has gone blank, i can only move and see my mouse. need help. ubuntu is dual loaded with vista business.
