I can't figure this out. The film does a great job of portraying the negative consequences of a laissez faire society but ultimately renders no judgment positive or negative and in addition, the laissez faire characters learn no lessons from their experiences and if anything in the end, only redouble their commitment to keeping their laissez faire fantasies alive. How do you interpret it? Is it pro or anti... or are the makers of the film simply so oblivious, they don't even recognize the issue?
