Can doctors tell if you get a prescription filled by another doctor?

I am seeing a pain doctor for fibromyalgia and degenerative disk disease. They made me sign saying I would not get prescriptions filled by another doc. I dont have the need to do this but I was just wondering if there was a way for doctors to track your prescriptions other than insurance?
